Women in Business Networking Recognizes Gayle Simmons as One of Its 2024 Women to Watch
Congratulations to Gayle Simmons! The Dayton and Miami Valley Better Business Bureau’s Women in Business Networking (WiBN) program named Gayle one of its 2024 WiBN Women to Watch.
Gayle serves as manager of chaplains for Ohio’s Hospice, managing a spiritual care team of 25 chaplains.
Since 2009, WiBN has been recognizing women throughout the Miami Valley. The WiBN Women to Watch: Influential Women of the Miami Valley awards recognize women who are exceptional in their roles and respected in their fields. They are a force of change in both their professional and personal lives, and they make a lasting impression on others.
The WiBN Women to Watch honorees are dynamic professional women who have been recognized for inspiring and encouraging those around them to actively challenge the status quo. They are working to improve their communities, developing their employees, and advocating for women. These women involve those around them in their endeavors, increasing their collective impact.
Gayle is an ordained itinerant elder and endorsed chaplain of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. She earned her bachelor’s degree in management from Wilberforce University and a Master of Divinity degree from Payne Theological Seminary, both located in Wilberforce, Ohio.
She completed her chaplaincy residence at the Dayton Veteran Affairs Medical Center and additional supervisory clinical pastoral education at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. Gayle has completed further studies at the Sacred Art of Living Institute in Bend, Oregon, and is certified in spiritual direction, focusing on spiritual pain at the end of life.
She also completed the Chaplaincy Management Program with the Spiritual Care Association and the Supervisory Leadership Program at the University of Dayton. Gayle is married to the Rev. Dr. Michael Simmons, and they have five children and eleven grandchildren.
Gayle will be recognized on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024, at the WiBN Awards Gala where key players in business in the Miami Valley honor WiBN’s Women to Watch.
Congratulations to Gayle for being recognized as a 2024 WiBN Women to Watch honoree and thanks to her for her support of our mission!
