Become a Personal Care Specialist
Our personal care specialists are guided by our values of servant leadership, kindness, honesty, and compassion. They are valued by our organization for their expertise in taking care of a patient’s personal needs with dignity, compassion and empathy.
They provide quality nursing assistance to patients, assist families with the care of patients, and work with a care team that relies on their input from the close relationship they develop with patients. They are committed to our mission to celebrate the lives of those we have the privilege of serving by providing superior care and superior services to each patient and family we are honored and privileged to serve.
Certification
Every hospice employs registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and state tested nursing assistants (STNAs) to provide the hands-on nursing and personal care for its patients.
But at Ohio’s Hospice, our personal care specialists are certified by the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association (HPNA), the leading national organization for end-of life care nursing. It’s a standard that few, if any, other hospice providers can match.
It’s a commitment driven by our mission to provide superior care and superior services, a fierce determination to set an unparalleled standard for quality care, and a desire to provide employees with both a fulfilling job and opportunities for career development and advancement.
Investing in Our Personal Care Specialists
We make a considerable investment each year in supporting our personal care specialists in their pursuit of certification. We provide test preparation courses, a practice test, and coaching and counseling after the practice test. Participants are paid for their time in class, and Ohio’s Hospice pays for the cost of the certification test.
Join a Mission That Matters
