Walking Together in Remembrance: Dayton Raises $35K to Honor Loved Ones and Support Hospice Care
More than 300 walkers participated in the 20th annual Ohio’s Hospice Remembrance Walk in Dayton raising $35,000 for supporting patient care and services, while honoring the memories of loved ones.
The event offered families and friends an opportunity to support important Ohio’s Hospice services like community-wide grief counseling; complementary therapies such as music, art and massage; and financial assistance for patients unable to pay for their care.
“This annual event allows our community a way to remember and honor their loved ones while supporting our mission to continue to serve families in our area,” explained Special Event Coordinator, Candis Conley. “This year was the 20th year of this event! We celebrated with Tie-Dye event t-shirts, a table displaying old collateral pieces, a slideshow of past event photos, and a display of past event t-shirts.”
Conley said that event featured special guests. Volunteer Veteran George Loney pinned veteran Jerry Hess during the pinning ceremony as part of our American Pride® Veteran Care by Ohio’s Hospice program. The Kettering VFW posted the Colors, and Aaron Fraley sang the National Anthem.
