Virtual Remembrance Walk - 10.24.20

Virtual 2020 Annual Remembrance Walk/Run to Benefit Patients and Families of Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton

Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton is holding its annual Remembrance Walk/Run as a virtual event through Saturday, Oct. 24. While this year’s event is not an organized walk, the proceeds from the virtual event support the mission of Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton, a not-for-profit, community-based hospice serving the Dayton region since 1978.

“Our mission is to celebrate the lives of those we have the privilege of serving by providing superior care and superior services to each patient and family,” said Sydney Truax, event organizer. “Through community support, we are able to provide support services that are not covered by Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance to our patients and families facing life-limiting illnesses.”

Proceeds raised from the event also help Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton provide grief support at no cost to anyone in the community; provide complementary services such as massage, music and art therapy; and provide palliative care to patients whose chronic disease compromises their quality of life.

Participants must register by Oct. 5 to guarantee an event T-shirt. T-shirts may be picked up at the drive-thru tent, located near the north entrance of Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton, off of Wilmington Avenue on Saturday, Oct. 24. Please note that this is not the main campus entrance to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton.

Celebration of Life signs will be displayed around the Memorial Garden Pond, located off the north entrance driveway of Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton. While there will not be an organized walk, participants may view the signs at their leisure on Saturday, Oct. 24, 8:30 am to 1 pm.

This year’s presenting sponsors are Coolidge Wall Co., L.P.A.; Detmer & Sons, Inc.; and Huntington Bank. Silver sponsors are Calvary Cemetery and Dodds Memorials. Bronze sponsors are Champion Apparel and Promotions, Inc.; David’s Cemetery; and Kettering Health Network. The supporting sponsor is USI Insurance Services.

For more information and to register as a participant, visit the website at https://www.hospiceofdayton.org/walk2020 or contact Truax at 937.256.9507, ext. 2885.

Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton, an affiliate of Ohio’s Hospice, is a not-for-profit hospice provider.
