The Ohio’s Hospice Difference: Expertise When It Matters Most
At Ohio’s Hospice, we take a person-centered, evidence-based approach to providing supportive and comfort care for people facing a life-limiting illness or injury. We rely on best practices, clinical research, and current science to provide superior care and superior services to patients and families we have the privilege of serving.
As one of the state’s most experienced care providers with roots going back to the original introduction of hospice care in the United States, today we serve communities throughout the state and in some areas of the state have done so for more than 45 years.
Our care teams include board-certified hospice and palliative care physicians, hospice-certified nurses and personal care specialists (state-tested nursing assistants), social workers, chaplains, bereavement counseling professionals, and volunteers.
Our focus on the Ohio’s Hospice difference shows in the numbers. Based on a 2022 survey of Hospice and Palliative Care certifications for nurses, social workers, and personal care specialists in Ohio, 54% of all the certified hospice and palliative nurses; 51% of all the certified advanced palliative and hospice social workers; and 42% of all the certified hospice and palliative nursing assistants work at Ohio’s Hospice!
As a not-for-profit, community-based team, we provide care regardless of a patient’s ability to pay. Our patients benefit from an array of complementary and innovative therapies and continue treatments that provide comfort and support when it’s needed most.
