Support on the Links: Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare 2023 Golf Classic Raises $25,000 for Patient Care and Services
Thanks to support from members of the community, Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare raised $25,000 at its 2023 Golf Classic held Sept. 8 at The Pines Golf Club in Orrville. The original event scheduled for Aug. 25 was postponed due to weather. Proceeds from the Golf Classic support patient care and services at the local, not-for-profit hospice.
Twenty-four teams registered to play in the Golf Classic. The team from Park National Bank finished in first place, and the Titus Yoder team finished in second place. A silent auction raised $1,200 of the $25,000 raised at the event.
“We’re grateful to both golfers and sponsors who participated in our Golf Classic,” said Katherine Ritchie, development director at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare. “Events like these allow the community to gather to raise needed funds to help those in our community facing life-limiting illnesses and those who need grief counseling.”
Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare thanks the generous sponsors of the 2023 Golf Classic. They include presenting sponsor, Charm Builders; platinum sponsor, Wooster Glass; gold sponsors, Pomerene Hospital and Lincoln Financial; silver sponsor, McGohan Brabender; beverage cart sponsor, Wooster Color Point; and driving range sponsor, Wooster Hydrostatics. Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare is grateful to the Romich Foundation for their in-kind donation of the golfer gift, a drink tumbler, and the trophies for the winning teams and three contests on the course.
Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare’s next event is the Pathways of HopeSM Luminaria event on Sunday, Oct. 22, at 6 pm. The community is invited to honor and remember their loved ones. Luminarias will be lit, glowing warmly at dusk around the pond and surrounded by woods. For more information and to register for the event, visit: www.OhiosHospice.org/OHLCLuminaria23
