Rhonda Foster Presented Carnation Award

Outstanding members of the Ohio’s Hospice staff are recognized every quarter with the Bouquet of Recognition Awards for going above and beyond in advocating for and serving patients. As a member of the Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County clinical team, Rhonda Foster earned recognition with the Carnation Award, presented to staff members in clinical support services roles.

Rhonda Foster earned Carnation Award recognition for her outstanding role as a Care Team Coordinator.

Rhonda joined Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County as a Care Manager in 2013, and took on a new role as a CTC in 2016, developing care plans for each patient as they are admitted to hospice.  According to her Carnation nomination, this role “entails going through admissions carefully and collaborating with the Care Managers to develop a plan of care that will provide patients with the best end-of-life care possible.”

The nomination honors Rhonda for fulfilling “her duties above and beyond the job description.  She demonstrates her ability to pay attention to detail and glean insights into patients and caregivers from her thorough review of the documentation. She often has ideas about symptom management and ways to approach or view a difficult situation.”

Rhonda “is instrumental in arranging for a transfer of patients for respite, crisis care, or placement in the HOMC inpatient unit…she handles them with organization, patience and speed.  Rhonda understands that changes in the level of care need to be done with precision.  She knows how precious time is in hospice care.”

Rhonda is also an enthusiastic cheerleader for new staff members and encourages them as they take on their roles at Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County. “She greets them with a warm smile and willingly shares her knowledge…She is essential in keeping our hospice team running smoothly.”

In addition to her professional abilities, Rhonda was recognized for reaching out to her community with compassion and understanding, making a difference in many lives. “Rhonda… is a role model as a professional and as a wonderful human being.”

We join in thanking Rhonda for all she does and expressing gratitude to have her as a member of our Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County team.
