Ohio’s Hospice Raises 52k at Golf Classic in Dover
The Ohio’s Hospice Golf Classic held recently at the Union Country Club in Dover, featured 35 teams of 4 golfers that helped raise $52,000 to go towards funding patient care for those unable to pay for services.
“With the funds raised, we are allowed to continue our mission of neighbors serving neighbors,” said Special Events Donor Relations Coordinator, Mona Sayre.
More than 20 volunteers manned stations on the course and ran the on-course games for the 140 golfers that participated.
Volunteers grilled hot dogs for the golfers on the course as a special added touch, and it was noted that Jeff Selinsky ran the world’s fastest reverse raffle at dinner.
The team of Phil Gebhardt, Joe McCartney, Blake Sattler and Rick Mast captured first place at the event.
Gebhardt noted that the event was well-run and represented fundraising for a worthy cause.
“It was a great event, great weather, played with great friends for a great cause,” he said. “Is that too many greats?”
Event committee members included: Karon Baker, Karen Stokey, Pam Frank, Angie Tango and Suzanne Nemetz.
