Ohio’s Hospice 2024 Luminaria Event Honors Loved Ones
At Ohio’s Hospice Wooster’s second Pathways of Hope℠ Luminaria, as dusk settled over the wooded grounds, luminarias bearing the names of those who recently died created a gentle glow around the pond behind the Gault Inpatient Pavilion.
More than 75 members of the community gathered behind the Gault Inpatient Pavilion to honor loved ones.
Friends and families enjoyed a program that included music, readings and reflections. The music was provided by David Hargrave, a bereavement counseling professional.
“Events like these allow our community members to gather to remember and to look around and know there are not alone,” said Katherine Ritchie, development director at Ohio’s Hospice. The fall colors, crisp air, reflective moving music and glowing luminarias were all symbols of celebrating lives well lived.”
Proceeds raised from the event support programming for Pathways of Hope, offering free bereavement services to the community.
The event was open to all community members, regardless of connection to Ohio’s Hospice. Proceeds support Pathways of Hope’s free bereavement services. MCTV, West View Healthy Living, McCoy Management, Annete Fejes, and Karen Yancer sponsored the event.
