Ohio’s Community Mercy Hospice and Mercy Health Oakwood Village Senior Living Partner to Honor Veterans
Mercy Health Oakwood Village Senior Living in Springfield is collaborating with the American Pride℠ Veteran Care by Ohio’s Hospice program to honor Veterans with life-limiting illnesses before they are lost to us.
Ohio’s Community Mercy Hospice will join with Oakwood for a Veteran’s Day celebration on Friday, November 9 from 2 to 4 pm in the Community Room at Oakwood Village. The event will honor Veterans who reside at Oakwood and will feature a live 21-gun salute by the Clark County Marine Corp League, Color Guard, Taps performed by live buglers and live piano performances of patriotic music. An estimated 150 residents, family members, staff and volunteers are expected to attend.
Ohio’s Community Mercy Hospice participates in the Ohio’s Hospice American Pride program to ensure that Veterans receive benefits and support that acknowledges their service and sacrifice. By recognizing the unique needs of the nation’s Veterans who are facing a life-limiting illness, Ohio’s Community Mercy Hospice is able to accompany and guide Veterans and their families toward a more peaceful ending. American Pride programs include participation in Honor Flight, Veteran pinning ceremonies and special observances and celebrations honoring Veteran service.
