Ohio’s Hospice Celebrates National Doctors’ Day and Recognizes Physicians
Today, Ohio’s Hospice celebrates National Doctors’ Day and honors the physicians who dedicate their careers to providing care to hospice and palliative patients across our organization. We are fortunate to have exceptional doctors shaping the future of hospice and palliative care and educating the next generation of physicians.
“Ohio’s Hospice believes in providing the most comprehensive care team that includes access to and support from our own physicians for the patients and families we are privileged to serve,” said Kent Anderson, CEO of Ohio’s Hospice. “Leadership starts with the willingness to serve, and our physicians have chosen to be leaders in hospice and palliative medical care. They are experts in providing support, comfort and dignity to those experiencing end-of-life issues. Our physicians make our care better and provide great expertise to our interdisciplinary care teammates.”
The physicians at Ohio’s Hospice and its affiliates are a part of a world-class team, caring for the most fragile population with a team of experts from multiple disciplines.
“We are bringing dedicated and experienced talent in hospice and palliative care to the communities we serve,” said Dr. Chirag Patel, chief medical officer of Ohio’s Hospice and Pure Healthcare. “I want to thank my physician teammates for their commitment to our mission and our communities, as we continue to deliver world-class care to our hospice and palliative patients and their families.”
Across all Ohio’s Hospice affiliates, physicians are a leading the interdisciplinary care teams, setting care plans for patients and families, ensuring that all team members are in place to achieve success, and educating and training students, residents, and fellows in hospice and palliative care.
“Educating the next generation from our seasoned physicians’ clinical history is critical to maintain our mission’s longevity,” Dr. Patel said. “Leading in this world class education will always remain a core component of our physician practice and something we are very proud to participate in.”
