Familiar Face at Ohio’s Hospice of Fayette County
For the past 22 years, everyone calling Ohio’s Hospice of Fayette County has received the same warm, pleasant and sweet greeting from Joyce New. She joined the staff in 1996 and, in her words, “never looked back.”
Joyce sings the praises of her colleagues during her many years of service. “They are marvelous people, all of them. That’s why you stay. Our nurses and aides are so committed to patients and families. Each individual has a part in keeping everything going” she says. “When people are in distress, as our patients and families often are, they need help right now, not two hours from now. It takes everyone working together to deliver the care patients need.”
Over the years, Joyce has seen Ohio’s Hospice of Fayette County both grow in size and expand the services it is able to provide for patients and families. “We are serving more patients and have the ability now to address pain so much better,” she says. “It’s a world of difference.”
Joyce says she would not trade her 22 years in hospice service for anything. “God puts me where he wants me,” she says. “I’ve always ended up just where I needed to be.”
What a wonderful gift that has proven to be for Ohio’s Hospice of Fayette County.
