Diana Zerkle Celebrates 20 Years with Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton
Diana Zerkle, medical social worker at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton, is celebrating 20 years with the organization. From her teenage years, Diana knew she wanted to be a social worker and set that as her career goal.
Through working multiple jobs to support her family, Diana found her way to the education and career goal she had set.
“Starting in your 40s going back to school was very challenging but the teenage goal was in sight, and I survived,” Diana said. “Helping others is receiving more than you give and it is so fulfilling. I am grateful for my role.”
She currently works on an as needed basis after years of working full time.
“In this role, you observe the many supportive benefits hospice care can provide not only to the patient’s comfort, but to the journey emotionally and spiritually for our patients in their final days,” Diana said. “Serving in this role is a privilege, and I can help brave people facing the end of their lives.”
Being surrounded by teammates who are caring, dedicated and mutually bonded in the focus to provide the best care they can contributes to her belief in the hospice mission.
We’re grateful to Diana for her support of our mission over the past 20 years!
