Charm Days Raffle Raises $71,000 for Ohio’s Hospice Lifecare’s Amish Care Fund
Thanks to generous support from the community, more than $71,000 was raised at Charm Days on Oct. 14 through a raffle for Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare’s Amish Care Fund. The donations go toward patient care and services for the Amish community. The raffle was part of Charm Days, a two-day festival held Oct. 13-14 in Charm, Ohio.
“Each year, our appreciation continues to grow for a community that supports our mission where neighbors take care of neighbors,” said Katherine Ritchie, development director at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare. “The donations, volunteer time, contributions, and tickets sold resulted in a successful event supporting the Amish Care Fund at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare.”
The Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare Amish Care Fund is supported by donations from Amish Churches and fundraisers to help Amish and Plain Church patients who do not have Medicare, Medicaid, or other insurance that covers hospice services. The Amish Care Fund helps ensure that Amish and Plain Church patients are able to receive compassionate care offered through Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare.
The raffle items included $7,500 cash, a 48” Ferris mower, Swarovski BTX spotting scope with tripod, 14 x 16 Berlin Gardens pavilion, child swing and play set, LuxCraft seating set, NCM Milano Plus bike, Green Egg, Cutco knife set, rotating wash line, cross bow, Bernette Serger sewing machine, flag croquet, Vita Mix, egg chair, and a Euro steam iron.
