Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton Camp Pathways Registration Open for Grieving Children Ages 7-10
Camp Pathways registration is open for grieving children ages 7-10, who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or significant loved one. Camp Pathways will be held Friday, June 25, 2021, at Camp Joy Outdoor Education Center (10117 Old 3 C Hwy., Clarksville, OH 45113).
The Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton Pathways of Hope℠ Grief Counseling Center is hosting the camp. Professional grief counselors and trained volunteers will lead the activities.
Camp Pathways is a unique experience designed to encourage children to express their feelings of grief in a safe and fun environment. Some of the many benefits the campers receive are an opportunity to be with other children who have also experienced the death of a loved one; group support time that provides grief activities; fun, age-appropriate outdoor activities such as a swimming pool, climbing wall, ropes course, arts and crafts; and a memorial service that honors the memory of the loved one.
There is no cost to attend Camp Pathways, thanks to generous community support. Transportation to and from camp will be provided on Friday at the Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton Campus.
Space is widely available to children ages 7-10. There also are a few spots remaining for ages 11-12 and teen boys. Registration is required. Priority will be given to children who are actively grieving and who have not attended camp in the past. To ensure a space, you must pre-register online at www.HospiceOfDayton.org/CampPathways2021 or call 937.258.4991.
