Butterfly Release Raises Nearly $14K While Honoring Loved Ones
Ohio’s Hospice held a Celebrating Life’s Stories® Butterfly Release at the Davis-Shai House in Heath, OH to remember and honor special people who have touched our lives and live on in our memories and to support the mission of the agency.
200 members of the community attended the event, which raised $13,700, to directly support patient care and services at the not-for-profit organization in Newark.
Attendees enjoyed music performed by harpist, Olivia Claggett, and a heartwarming story shared by Ohio’s Hospice Foundation board member, Don Fodor.
Fodor described the care Ohio’s Hospice provides to several of his family members as the motivating factor to donate and volunteer for the organization to ensure that this level of care is always available.
Volunteerism has always been important to the Ohio’s Hospice mission, and volunteers helped with parking, check-in, distribution of butterflies, the audio system and clean-up.
Donor and community support enables Ohio’s Hospice to keep important programs, such as Pathways of HopeSM Grief Counseling Centers, underinsured and uninsured care, quality of life needs, palliative care, and American Pride® Veteran Care.
Special thanks to Loyal Order of Moose Newark #499 for their continued support as presenting sponsor for this event and to all of our sponsors for their support of our mission.
