Book Review: How I Feel: Grief Journal for Kids
This grief journal is targeted to kids, ages 8-12. The author, Mia Roldan, promotes introspection and expression of their thoughts and feelings around their loss. The prompts largely focus on the present. They encourage healthy coping and self-care while interspersing aspects of grief commonly experienced by this age group, such as dealing with fear and change.
Roldan introduces concepts known to promote healing, such as confidence and “superpowers” to build resilience. This journal is easy to follow with few words, inviting graphics, and illustrations kids will enjoy. It is gender neutral and highly recommended.
