Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton Offers Final Volunteer Training for 2017
Volunteers play a vital role in supporting hospice patients and families. As members of the interdisciplinary team, they provide a variety of services including respite care, shopping, delivery of medications and supplies, beautician and barber services, birthday celebrations, gardening, companionship and more.
Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton will hold the final new volunteer orientation of 2017 on December 6. Volunteer training acquaints new volunteers with information on

- Confidentiality, infection control, and safety
- Boundaries
- Effective listening
- Loss and grief
Maureen Swarts, Volunteer Services Manager, welcomes volunteers from all backgrounds and of all ages. “Volunteers give from their hearts and enable us to touch the lives of patients and families with enhanced compassion and care.
