Annual Ohio’s Hospice Golf Classic Raises Nearly $28k
Blue skies, sunshine and a breeze greeted 80 golfers on Aug. 23 at The Pines Golf Club in Orrville for the third annual Ohio’s Hospice Golf Classic. The day included golf, lunch, dinner, drinks and games of chance raising nearly $28,000 for patient care and services for Ohio’s Hospice in Wooster.
Dollars raised from the event will help Ohio’s Hospice provide care and services to anyone in the community facing end-of-life illnesses, regardless of ability to pay, and provide grief support at no cost to anyone in the community.
“We are grateful for the continued support of our Golf Classic through our attendees and sponsors,” said Katherine Ritchie Grant, development director at Ohio’s Hospice. “A fun day on the course directly supports our community and neighbors when they are in need of end-of-life care and bereavement services. For over forty years, that has been our mission.”
The first-place team was Brian Hinkle, Steve Richardson, Brock Dettmer and Michelle Harmon from Park National Bank. Second place went to Provision Landscaping and third place went to the Ruwe Team.
Local businesses showed their support through various sponsorship levels. Charm Builders provided our presenting sponsorship. The platinum sponsor was Wooster Glass. Gold sponsors included Pomerene Hospital, Wooster Brush Company and MCTV. Beverage cart sponsors were Wooster Color Point and Bogner Construction Company. Golfer gifts and awards were donated by Romich Foundation Makerspace. Ohio’s Hospice is grateful for all sponsors and in-kind gifts for the event.
The organization has already set its sights on the future, announcing the Golf Classic will return in 2025.
