A Birdie for Remembrance: Ohio’s Hospice Honors Past Supporters in Final Golf Classic

Ohio’s Hospice marked a significant milestone with its 20th and final Annual Golf Classic, raising an impressive $88,538.40. The event brought together 84 golfers to support the organization’s mission of providing superior care and superior services to patients, regardless of their ability to pay.

Thanks for attending the Golf Classic!

This farewell tournament was filled with poignant moments, none more touching than the tribute paid at Hole #1. Designated as a memory hole, it honored committee members who had dedicated years to ensuring the event’s success. In a gesture of appreciation, all participants were awarded a birdie score at this hole.

A highlight of the day was the recognition of Jamie Schade from UBS/The Schade Team, the event’s presenting sponsor. Schade was presented with a special gift, acknowledging his years of unwavering support for the Golf Classic and Ohio’s Hospice’s mission.

“We are beyond grateful for our golfers and sponsors who have returned year after year to support our mission and fundraising events,” said a spokesperson for Ohio’s Hospice. The funds raised at this event will significantly impact the organization’s ability to serve its communities, ensuring that patients continue to receive high-quality, compassionate care when it matters most.

The funds raised will support a range of essential services, including grief support programs and complementary therapies. Thanks to generous community support, Ohio’s Hospice offers comprehensive bereavement services, including counseling and support groups, to help families navigate the challenging journey of loss. Additionally, the organization provides complementary therapies such as music, aroma and massage therapies, which enhance the quality of life for patients and their families during difficult times.

While this marks the end of the Golf Classic tradition, Ohio’s Hospice is not slowing its fundraising efforts. The organization invites supporters to their upcoming Keys of Life Dueling Piano event, scheduled for Thursday, September 19, at Carillon Park beginning at 6:30 pm. This new event aims to continue the spirit of community engagement and support for the hospice’s vital services.

As Ohio’s Hospice concludes this chapter, they look forward to new ways of engaging with their supporters and continuing their mission of Celebrating Life’s Stories®. The success of this final Golf Classic stands as a testament to the strong community bonds and shared commitment friends and neighbors supporting friends and neighbors.
