Social wellness — the positive connections with family, friends, caregivers, and anyone else — is a key component of hospice care. It focuses on relationships and the positive benefits that help mental, emotional or physical health.

Processing the many feelings that patients and families experience when facing a life-limiting illness or injury can be difficult to manage. At Ohio’s Hospice, physical care and nursing services help patients with pain and medical treatment alongside therapies that help reduce stress and manage relationships.

The team-oriented approach to expert medical care at Ohio’s Hospice provides medical care, pain management, and emotional and spiritual support tailored to each patient and family’s needs.

• Routine Care: Patients receive hospice services in the setting they call home.
• Crisis Care: Patients receive care on a short-term continuous basis in order to monitor and manage uncontrolled symptoms.
• General Inpatient Care: Patients receive care on a short-term basis in an inpatient facility to help relieve uncontrolled symptoms.
• Respite Care: Patients receive care in a facility on a short-term basis, for up to five days, to provide relief for the caregiver.

Our Pathways of HopeSM Grief Counseling Centers offer support and education to patients’ families and community members. The bereavement support is unique for each individual to help them navigate grief and cope with the life changes that loss brings.

The tailored plan of care for each patient, regardless of location of care, addresses the disease-specific symptoms of patients and improves quality of life. Compassionate care allows patients and families to celebrate life with peace of mind, rather than stress and uncertainty.
